The opera has 5 acts beginning in a tavern where a poet drinks and tells the surrounding crowd about his three lost loves: he fell in love with a robot, a courtesan, and a young girl who sings herself to death.

I set the opera in the swinging 20's- with flapper dresses, gangster suits, long pearls and feathers. The color scheme was sepia tones.

In the background we had projections on the screen as if it were a silent movie- photo stills as background scenery interspersed with film cards explaining the dialogue- old fashioned film footage filled the screen during the scene changes.

Had an amazing time- spent 1 night in Warsaw at a fantastic hotel, then took the train to Krakow where we saw art, ate our fill of paczki, and wandered around fire breathing dragon statues. Krakow also had some really artsy stores- bought a cool bag, earrings, other jewlery, and fun gifts.

Overnight train to Prague was interesting- we decided not to get a sleeper car and at first it appeared that we would have to sit up all night for 9 hours because our car was filled. But at the border the Polish family left and the backpackers dispersed and we were able to lay get some sleep.

Prague was beautiful- only problem I really had was that got scammed almost immediately upon arriving in the country. Needed to use the bathroom (which of course one has to pay for) had tried to break a twenty - bathroom attendant gave me incorrect change on purpose and refused to correct it. Apparently thats a common scam. Weather was summer like and the architecture in Prague is simply stunning. Bought more cool stuff there including a really fun watercolor painting of the Charles Bridge.

I already have some of my art from the trip up here and here with more on the way. Art nouveau is a big movement in both Poland and the Czech Republic, feel like I will have to explore it a little more in my own work.

I also have a bunch of my photos from the trip up here

Not sure where we will go next--> saw a good deal staying in a castle in Tuscany and traveling between London and Edinburgh, we'll see what comes up!

Next Trip: Poland & Czech Republic

Next trip planned is to Poland and the Czech Republic in the next several weeks.
