Ronda, Spain

Ronda, Spain

Driving to Ronda was an amazing experience...curving, windy roads leading to dramatic cliff edges.. Ronda itself is a gorgeous little town overlooking deep dramatic gorges.  Ronda is the birthplace of bull fighting and home to one very impressive canyon running down the middle of the city.

wow!!!

driving back to the coast on the other hand, was a white knuckle experience!

Seville, Spain

Seville, Spain

Oranges, flamenco, chocolate con churros, tight parking, extremely reasonable prices on tinto de verano - my impressions of my two days in Seville, Spain. We had a tough time exiting the city and were curious what Ave de Kansas City was all about, but all in all it was a fantastic time.

Granada, Spain

Granada, Spain

The Alhambra, the snow capped Sierra Nevada peaking up in the background, the most bizarre altar peice I've ever seen, plus lots of hills! Seriously- your calves will get a workout for sure - but a beautiful city and super friendly people.

Cordoba, Spain

Cordoba, Spain

We spent a beautiful day and a half in Cordoba during our drive around Andalusia. Probably the best meal of the entire Spanish adventure was had at El Churrasco - truly excellent and great service. We took in the Mezquita, which is a crazy, wonderful building that was originally a vast mosque of beautiful red and white striped and after the reconquest a cathedral was built in the center.

Madrid Airport Barajas

Madrid Airport Barajas

We got stranded in Madrid on our way home from Naples, heavy fog in Spain stranded a lot of travelers. We stepped off the plane to see a line with at least 120 people in it and only two attendants helping people with their flight delays... we waited in line for over 5 hours before we were helped and put on an early morning plane (with at least free accommodations downtown which gave us the opportunity to have a truly excellent Spanish meal) When we arrived at the airport in the morning we learned that our flight had been cancelled and we were now on an afternoon flight (thanks for that Iberia, it would have been nice to see some of Madrid that morning) anyways... the point is we spent A LOT of time in the Madrid Airport Barajas and its a really interesting design, here are some of my drawings.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona was beautiful, sunny, vibrant and alive. FC Barcelona won the European Cup while we were there and I have rarely seen people so excited! It was also full of drawing ideas.
